Selena Gomez Commemorates Taylor Swift’s Achievement as Apple Music’s Artist of the Year

As always, Selena Gomez is enthusiastically supporting her closest friend. Just a few days after Taylor Swift was crowned Apple Music Artist of the Year, the star of “Only Murders in the Building” joined a chorus of Swift’s other well-known friends in a celebratory video.

In a self-recorded clip shared by Apple Music on Friday (Dec. 1) on social media, Gomez expressed, “It’s pretty evident why Taylor is the artist of the year. She has made significant contributions to her community and fans.” Camila Cabello also contributed a video to Apple, praising Swift as the “soundtrack to me and my friends’ lives.” The “Bam Bam” artist referred to Swift’s discography as “poetry.”

The video reel also showcased Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Girl in Red, and Muna, all of whom have been openers on Swift’s Eras Tour. Abrams stated, “She’s made magic. Kind of end of story,” while Carpenter playfully remarked that the 12-time Grammy winner “struggles to do anything that isn’t iconic.”

Swift is not only Apple Music’s top artist of 2023 but also Spotify’s, amassing a staggering 26.1 billion streams on the platform alone. To commemorate this achievement, the “Karma” artist released her Midnights Vault track “You’re Losing Me” for streaming. In addition, Spotify honored Swift with several custom billboards dedicated to her.
